Trails are open from dawn to dusk. Dogs are welcome—please pick up after your pet. Be mindful of our native wildlife.

Start your adventure at Town Center and explore a picturesque landscape all the way to the San Joaquin River. The hike begins with a leisurely stroll to Beaver Pond, a perfect spot for fishing. Then it’s onward along the creek bed lined with Poplar trees that provide a natural landmark. You’ll pass Beaver’s House where you can marvel at the beaver dam, Vulture’s Rock, a prime location for bird watching, and Kissing Gate, the gateway leading hikers to the serenity of Old Oak Grove with its majestic trees or down to the San Joaquin River

Linking Hillside Village to Tesoro Viejo’s network of trails, this hike is a short and easy stroll along the canal and creek bed, for a lovely way to begin or end an excursion.

Flat and winding, with sections passing alongside quiet pools, the trail leads you past the foot of Little Table Mountain and wanders beside the creek bed, where it connects to Hillside Loop.

The Hillside Loop Trail encircles Hillside Village and meanders around Buck Meadow – a preserved open space in the heart of the Village, and where bucks have been sighted. A spur leads to the Tesoro Nuevo and Creekside Connection trails, access points for the rest of Tesoro Viejo’s sprawling trail network.

A hike along historic farm roads, climbing up to a “Dam Fine View” from the top with sweeping views of the Sierra Mountains, arroyos and Friant Dam. Then descend down along the arroyo and connect back to the Tesoro Viejo Trail. Stop by Beaver’s House and Vulture’s Rock and be awed by the natural world.

Connecting to both the Tesoro Viejo Trail and Creekside Connection, this trail winds past the Tesoro Viejo Tree Nursery and The Grotto, a unique rock formation. Take in views while hiking around fields en route to or from the Kissing Gate.
